I to am trying to get a rb-110 running with WEC7. Have followed through Professional Windows Embedded Compact 7 book with no luck. Prepared microSD and deployed using diskprep utility. I get the splash screen and then black screen.

Where is the Eboot.bin specific for the rb-110? Was it included with the BSP?

I have followed all the advice above but still no luck.

Hello I am new to this Roboard I am trying to install Windows OS on Roboard 100. No success yet. Can any one point me to basics of how installing and workinig with Windows XP embedded or CE ?

This BSP is created for the initial version of RoBoard (RB-100). The RB-110 board includes a FTDI controller (USB to serial). Since the driver for the FTDI controller is not available, a dialog is popup to manually install the driver DLL.

We will update the information on this page to reflect the resources are for the RB-100 RoBoard and will create a separate resource page for the RB-110 board shortly. Please check back in a few days.

Hello -

I'm still having some trouble building an image for my Roboard-110. I purchased Sam's book, "Professional Windows Embedded Compact 7", for some guidance. It's very interesting and helpful, but didn't bail me out for these specific questions. I appreciate any tips that anyone can offer.

First, I can build an image and download it via EBOOT. I wasn't able to get the Roboard video card working, so I use cerdisp. With it, I can see that the Roboard is complaining about an unrecognized USB device and prompting for a driver name. I have no USB devices on attached to the Roboard. Why would it think there was something there ? The most relevant debug message I can see is this - USBD: Could not load driver for attached device.

Second, should I be able to use the SD card as an ATAPI device ? When I include the Roboard BSP ATAPI items, the device will no longer boot. I want ATAPI so I can use the hive registry. I found this note from the ICOP site about the Vortex486Dx, but I'm not exactly sure what it's telling me:

Hive-based registry in Windows CE is for developers who need to save registry changes. Any registry change will be
saved on to DOM/HDD (for example: home page of Internet Explorer). If Windows CE is boot from USB or DOM
which is not primary master IDE device, Windows CE will hang at hive-based registry boot phase. eBox series will
get this problem easily for boot from CF or SD card.

The RoBoard is built without display. The BSP only include components that are part of the RoBoard. To support the Z9 display module, you can use the "VGA Linear (Flat) Framebuffer" driver. To launch the NK.bin OS image from the device's local storage, make sure the OS design is configured with the KITL build option "disabled".

I downloaded the BSP and I'm trying to create an OS for the Roboard, but I can't get one to boot. I have a DOS bootable micro SD card and I can boot to DOS, but when I try to use LOADCEPC NK.BIN, the screen gor through a 'PCI Bus' progress bar and then goes black. I don't see any component for the Z9 display board and I wonder if that could be part of the problem. Do I need to add anything to support that board ?

Anyone have other advice for building a Roboard Compact 7 OS ?
